Cushion PP-VM-Z

Our anti-pressure wheelchair cushion PP-VM-Z is made of thermoelastic foam VisMemo which has shape memory function. Shape memory function means that it remembers shape for a moment when patient does not press pillow. Moreover, the foam has ability to return to initial shape. That is why, some types of VisMemo pillows are strongly recommended in preventive treatment of pressure sores.

Pressure sores are wounds that develop when constant pressure or friction on one area of the body damages the skin. Constant pressure on an area of skin stops blood flowing normally, so the cells die and the skin breaks down. Other names for pressure sores are bedsores, pressure ulcers and decubitus ulcers. Sacral area of human body is the primary zone threatened by risk of pressure sores. In sacro-gluteal zone almost 50% of all sores appear. To avoid such problem, you should use our anti-pressure positioning cusion PP-VM-Z.

Anatomic shape of a pillow provides comfort in seating and prevents the poor posture. The medial thigh separator supports the greater trochanter area. The cushion ensures pelvic, lateral and medial thigh supports and provides optimal positioning and promotes proper leg alignment. VisMemo memory foam works according to two steps:

1.First step – it adjusts to pressure which is put by patient’s body. It is first as well as introductory level of adjustment. In case of ordinary polyurethane foams, it is both first and last level.

2.Second step – it is not immediate but it is spread over time. Our cushion additionally softens due to patient’s body warmth. This effect is not the same on the whole surface where body has contact with pillow. For this reason foam softens first and foremost in the hottest places, these ‘red points’ where body pressure on pillow is still too strong. Places of excessive pressure are spread because of this additional reaction of splint.

The cover of PP-VM-Z, that is made of skin friendly and breathable 3D fabric, can be easily remove and wash to maintain adequate hygiene. Additionally, in the back part of the cushion, we placed a belt that prevents from slipping the cushion down from the wheelchair. In the front part of PP-VM-Z we located a special pocket. You can hide there some keys, documents or other small items.

CODURA® is extreme durable lamination made of polyamide with polyurethane layer and Teflon finishing. Structure of fabrics and method of milling make the fabric lightweight but very resistant to damages and extreme conditions. External layer is covered by Teflon. Our devices made of CODURA® are the thinnest and the most durable on the market. Waterproof material.

The bottom is made of anti-migration material.
